The Patchwork Dog and Basket provides everything you need for patchwork and quilting as well as a range of specialist needlework supplies. We have a wide range of fabrics as well as waddings and threads and a fantastic range of gorgeous buttons, trimmings and ribbons. We also sell books, patterns and equipment such as cutters, rulers and mats as well as the odd basket and antique quilt.

Our new autumn course list is now available

Tuesday to Saturday 10.00am to 5.00pm. Occasionally closed for lunch between 1.00pm and 1.30pm but likely to be lurking in the all-too tempting cafe next door.

Please note we are attending a trade show in Houston America at the end of October (to get lots of exciting new things for the shop) and will be short staffed while we are away.

Therefore we will only be open Wednesdays through to Saturdays in the last two weeks in October (ie closed on Tuesdays). Even then if you are coming a distance please phone to check we are open. Sorry for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you when we get back.

Just off the High Street, in the heart of the fascinating county town of East Sussex which is on the A27 and has a main line railway station. There is a car park next to the Needlemakers building, which is a charming old converted factory with lots of interesting shops and a great cafe.
